Second Life Forum: Get Connected Today
February 10th, 2011
One February 14 (Valentine’s Day) HBO will be featuring a documentary called When Strangers Click: Five Stories from the Internet. There is a lot of excitement and anticipation in the SL world since this is the game that will be featured the documentary.
The film presents several stories about people finding love online. One of which is the Second Life story of how a talented musician met a woman at an in-world performance and how their worlds changed dramatically after this chance encounter.
While most members of Second Life may never meet anyone that will change their live that significantly, it is a game based largely around socialization so having friends is an important aspect of the game.
The film is being credited for realistically presenting the virtual world and its possibilities. Second Life does receive its share of criticism so it will be refreshing to see the game viewed in the more positive manner it deserves.
In a game that is so similar to our real word it is very important to be connected with other people. This can also be done outside the game in online chat rooms and Second Life forums. Not only is it important for you to have trustworthy friends for social reasons but knowing the right people can also mean a world of difference in terms of job opportunities, getting SL tips to help you out, and just having someone there that you can depend on.
This is not a game designed to play solo, get connected today.
