Teen Second Life Tips: A Better Game Experience

February 3rd, 2011

Teen Second Life has come to a close and its Residents will be transferred to the Main Grid. Although this safe haven for teens has been closed, Second Life is making it a priority to not compromise the experiences that SL teens have access to and to ensure that that they will have an enjoyable Second Life experience while keeping them safe and secure on the Main Grid.

Second Life teens were previously limited to 100 regions in Teen SL. Now they have access to nearly 5,000 general regions. This could get a bit overwhelming for even the most involved SL user.

Another place to hang out and get help in the game is a Second Life forum. This is a helpful community where the focus is to help each other. You’ll also find SL tips, secrets, and other helpful resources to make your SL experience that best that it could possibly be.

Making Teen Second Life A Better Place

September 29th, 2010

Teen SL is a Second life grid for 13 to 17-year-olds. Teen Second Life, however, will closing its doors to 16 and 17 year olds by the end of this year making it only available to 13-15-year-olds. All the nonprofit and educational communities will continue uninterrupted.

The number 1 priority for Linden Lab is to provide a safe and secure environment for teens. They have been working with the nonprofit and educational organizations to allow 13-15-year-olds limited access to the main grid. These teens will only be able to visit locations affiliated with the organization that they are a part of. They will not be able to search the grid or purchase items from the Marketplace. This allows a safe way for them to further advance their learning experience in Second Life.

There are also safe communities outside of Second Life that teens and adults alike can join that are focused around interacting with people and getting SL help that may not be readily available in the game itself.

A safe and friendly community I’ve been visiting is here: Second Life forum. The forum takes precautions to ensure that no personal information is released, everyone remains friendly and professional, and that no harmful files are featured on the site.

Another highlight of this SL forum is all their content they have available to assist you in your Second Life. You can find Second Life guides, tutorials, tips, and secrets to make you virtual world a better place to live in.

A Better Teen Second Life

August 11th, 2010

Teen Second Life is a virtual place created by Linden Lab where teens can gather to socialize, play, learn, and create the world around them. Teens create a customizable digital representation of themselves which is called an Avatar.

More than just a videogame or an internet chat room, Teen SL is a safe place for teens to make new friends and go on adventures all while learning valuable skills in working together, and also use their imagination to shape the world around them.

Teen Second Life is different from the adult version of Second Life since only teens ages 13-17 are allowed to enter. There are of course a few exceptions. Linden Lab’s staff, Linden Liaisons, is always present to make sure that Teen Second Life remains a safe and friendly place to be and everyone there is who they say they are. Sometimes teachers are also brought in for educational purposes; residents are always notified who they are and what projects they are working on.

Teen SL is an amazing place for young people to meet and get to know each other. Another place hang out is a Second Life forum which is also a place to gather, socialize, and learn. A forum is also filled with many resources that has been created by none other than residents who have mastered the game to help you advance:

What is Teen Second Life?

November 2nd, 2008

If you’ve ever played SL, then you probably have a good idea of what Teen Second Life is. If not, you might be a little curious as to what kind of game would be called a “second life.” Sometimes it’s nice to see what life would be like if you could do cool things, like fly or own a house where you arrange the furniture. That’s where Teen Second Life comes in for anyone between 13 and 17.

The age restriction is to keep teens safe from potential online dangers as well as the adult content that can be found in Second Life. Proof of age is required, generally by registering with a valid PayPal account that can also be used to upgrade the account from the free basic. A paid Second Life account will have more features than the basic one.

Teen Second Life has a lot of the same gameplay as the regular SL with minor exceptions. All of the adult content that you’d find in the regular game has been removed from the SL teen version. Also the prices of in-game objects in Teen Second Life are lower than the original game because the average income of the players is different. Teens can still purchase SL Linden Dollars, or game money, with real money from a selection of different websites. Anything a player has in Teen Second Life will automatically be transferred with their account to Second Life when they turn 18.

Second Life is one of the most interesting games out on the market because it even comes with its own version made especially for young people, SL Teen . It is more relevant – More so than the regular Second Life game, the teen version is really relevant to what teens do in their day to day lives.
