The next Second Life Millionaire
March 24th, 2010
Anshe Chung started her career creating and selling custom animations. She than used the money she made to buy and develop some land in Second Life. This was only the beginning for her. She now owns hundreds of servers’ worth of land , known as Dreamland, which she sells or rents to other people.
Anshe became the first the first person to make 1 million US dollars from the virtual world. She soon became known as the “Rockefeller of Second Life” and was featured in magazines such as Fortune and Business Week.

Many of us start our own Second Life business in hopes of becoming the next Anshe Chung. Starting a successful business in the virtual word can, however, be frustrating and oftentimes discouraging. I’ll share a couple tips that have helped ease some of the frustration and helped me get going:
Location, Location, Location
-If your renting or opening a store, always buy land in a high traffic area
Product & Pricing
-Quality
-Time and Effort
-Expenses
Presentation
-Show customers your items, make them appealing
Advertising
-In World Classified
-Second life forums
-Blogs or websites
Customer Service
-If you are professional customers will keep coming back, and bring their friends
This is just a quick rundown of a Second Life guide that helped me out tremendously when I first got started. If you care to read the full guide you can do so here: Second Life Business Guide
